Prof. Bakshi Hardeep Vaid works at Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology and has obtained his M. Tech. and Ph. D. in Atmospheric Sciences at University of Pune in 2004 and 2008 respectively. During reading for Ph. D., he worked on understanding the physical variability of the tropical Indian Ocean and its relation with the atmospheric forcing. Subsequently, he worked at the Indian Centre for Climate and Societal Impact Research and then moved to the National University of Singapore (NUS) for Post-Doctoral studies to explore research in the monsoon predictability and its roadblocks. His research areas include Asian Monsoon Variability and Predictability in particular Indian Summer Monsoon on Intra-seasonal, Inter-annual and Decadal Time Scales, Climate Variability, Climate Change over the Asian Monsoon Domain using both observation and Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Climate Model Diagnostics, Tele-connections of Monsoon Variability and its impact on water resources, Air-sea interactions, Monsoon Dynamics, Climate change and its societal impact.
